Here,
Initial velocity = 12m/s
Final velocity = 0m/s ( car comes at rest)
A/q
Acceleration = v-u/t
Acceleration = 0-12/6
= -12/6
= -2 m/s2

Question:-
A car with a velocity 12m/s takes 6s to come to rest when the brakes are applied. Find deceleration.
To Find:-
- Find the deceleration of the car.
Given:-
- The car has a velocity of 12m/s and it applies brake for 6 seconds and car comes to rest.
Formulas:-
- v = u + at
- v² - u² = 2as
- s = ut + 1/2 at²
Solution:-
u = 12 m/s ; v = 0 ; t = 6 sec ; a = ?
We have to find the acceleration for that we can use the acceleration formula and also first equation of motion formula.
a = -12/6
a = -2 m/s²
∴ The deceleration of the car is -2 m/s².
