have traveled the same distance,

Let the distance each travel be 'd'

If 't' is the time taken by X to travel d

Then time taken by Y will be t - 4/3 hr

Since, car Y travels 1 hr 20 minutes later

Speed of the car X , Vx = 60 kmph

Speed of the car Y, Vy = 80 kmph

Distance  traveled by X = t*Vx

Distance traveled by Y = (t - 4/3)*Vy

But, t*Vx = (t - 4/3)*Vy

60t = 80(t - 4/3)

20t = 320/3

t = 16/3

= 5 Hr and 20 mins

Hence, So X and Y will meet after 5 Hr and 20 mins past 5 pm

= 10:20 pm
