Total no.of possible outcomes = 52

(1) No.of favourable outcomes = 13 + 3 = 16

P(E) = no.of favourable outcomes / total no.of possible outcomes

P(S) = 16/52 = 4/13


(2) No.of favourable outcomes = 52 - 8 = 44

P(E) = no.of favourable outcomes / total no.of possible outcomes

P(N) = 44/52 = 11/13
