Total no. of cards = 52
Sum of no. of Queen and Jack cards = 8
No. of other cards = 52-8 = 44.
Therefore probability of neither a queen or jack is....

44/52

= 22/26

= 11/13..

Total number of all possible outcomes n(S) = 52.

Let A be the event of drawing a card which is either a queen or jack .

In a total number of 52 cards, we have 4 queens and 4 jacks = (4 + 4) = 8.

So, P(A) = n(A)/n(S) = 8/52.

Now,

Let E be the event of drawing of drawing a card neither queen nor jack.

P(E) = 1 - P(A)

= > 1 - (8/52)

= > (52 - 8)/52

= > 44/52

= > 11/13.

Therefore, the required probability = (11/13).

Hope this helps!
