P(E) = favourable outcomes / total no. of outcomes

(i) Getting a black king :-

P (a black king) = 2 / 52 = 26

(ii) Getting a queen of diamond :-

P (a diamond queen) = 1 / 52

(iii) Getting a card of spade or an ace :-

P (spade or ace) = 1 / 52 + 1 / 52 = 2 / 52 = 1 / 26

(iv) Neither a jack nor a king :-

P (no jack & no king) = P (Ē) = 1 - P (E) = 1 - 4+4 / 52 = 11 / 13

(v) Either kind or queen :-

P ( kind or queen) = 4+4 / 52 = 2 / 13
