Given

We have given a pack of cards

To find

We have to find probability of picking up a black card

\sf\huge\bold{\underline{\underline{{Solution}}}}

Concept

  • There are 26 red cards and 26 black cards in a pack of 52 cards out of which 12 are face cards.

 \sf \: Probability =  \dfrac{No.of \: favourable \: outcomes}{total \: No \: of \: outcomes}

Now,

Probability of getting black card = No of favorable outcomes÷Total no of outcomes

Here, favourable outcomes is 26

total number of outcomes is 52

P(getting a black card )= 26/52=1/2

Extra information=>

  • There are namely four types of cards heart,diamond [ of red ] ,spade & club [of black ].
  • There are 12 face cards namely King,Queen and Jack each of heart, diamond,spade & club.
  • There are 4 aces each of heart, diamond,spade & club.
