Given:

A deck of cards with numbers on them from 8 to 27.

There are 20 cards in all.

Find:  

We are asked to seek out the probability that the drawn card is divisible by 6 or 7 without remainder.

Solution:

We have,

Total number of outcomes (cards) = 20

Now,

Numbers that are divisible by 6,

12, 18, 24

i.e. Numbers that are divisible by 6 = 3

Now,

Numbers that are divisible by 7,

14, 21

i.e. Numbers that are divisible by 7 = 2

So,

Total numbers that are divisible by 6 or 7 without remainder = 3 + 2 = 5

So,

Probability of the drawn card = 5/20 = 1/4 = 0.25

Hence we can say that the probability that the drawn card is divisible by 6 or 7 without remainder is 0.25.
