A card is selected at random from a well shuffled pack of 52 cards. Find the probability that the selected card

is (i) a face card (ii) not an ace.

total cards = 52

face cards in a pack of 52 cards = 12

I) probability= 12/52= 6/26=3/13

ii) ace cards = 4

total-ace= 52-4=48

probability=48/52

= 12/13
