Step by step:

cost of 1 nails box= ruppees 42.50

cost of 1 screws box= ruppees 21.50

carpenter bought nails= 5 boxes= 42.50×5=212.5

carpenter bought screws= 7 boxes= 21.50×7= 150.5

total spent = 212.5+150.5 = ruppees 363

money given to shopkeeper = 500 ruppees

Money shop keeper to return =500-363

Money shop keeper to return = 137 ruppees

THEREFORE, SHOPKEEPER RETURNED 137 RUPPES TO THE CARPENTER.

HOPE IT HELPED...
