In the above question the length and breadth of a rectangular board is given and it is said that another piece is being cut out from that and it is asked to find the ratio of the piece cut to that of the remaining part and for that here is the answer:-

Length of board(L) = 3 m

Breadth of board (B) = 2m

Area of board = L×B

= 3×2

=6 m²

Length of piece cut out(l) = 250 cm

= 2.5 m

Breadth of piece cut out(b) = 90 cm

= 0.9 m

Area of piece cut out = l×b

= 2.5×0.9

= 2.25 m²

Area of remaining part = 6-2.25

= 3.75 m²

Ratio = 2.25/3.75

= 3/5

= 3:5

Hope this answer will help you.
