Given :  Table measures 360 cm  by 1960 cm, Square tiles to be sued without any cutting

To find : Largest Size of Square tile

Solution:

Table measures 360 cm  by 1960 cm

To find Largest square tile that can be used without any cutting

we need to find HCF of  360 & 1960

360 = 40 * 9

1960 = 40 * 49

HCF = 40

Size of Tile  =40 by 40 cm

Number of tiles required  =  360 * 1960 /( 40 * 40)

= 9 * 49

= 441

Tiles  along Lnegth  1960 cm = 1960/40 = 49

tiles along width 360 cm = 360/9 = 9

These are on one side of table

to get on both sides of table , multiply by 2
