A carpenter sold two chairs at Rs 924 each. On one he gains 20percentage and on the other he loses 20percentage. How much does he gain or lose in the whole transaction. Also, find the gain or lose percentage in the whole transaction​

Solution :-

S.P = 924

Gain % = 20

Loss % = 20

 =  >  \: c.p \:  =  \frac{100}{100 + 20}  \times 924 =  \frac{100}{120}  \times 924 = 770

 =  >  \: c.p \: \:  with \: 20\% \: loss \:  =  \frac{100}{100 - 20} \times 924 =  \frac{100}{80}   \times 924 = 1155

with CP of one article = 770

C.P of 2nd article = 1155

total CP = 770+1155= 1925

total S.P = 924×2=1848

total loss = 1925−1848

= 77 Rs
