a carpet 5m long and 4 m wide is laid in a sq. room of side 7m .
Find the area of the floor left uncovered​

Answer:

First lets find area of room

Room is square in shape, side of room =7m

Therefore ,area of room=side×side

                                     =7×7= 49 sq.m

Now lets find the area of the carpet

length= 5m, breadth =7m

Carpet is rectangular in shape

therefore, area =length ×breadth

                          =7×4= 28sq.m

area of the floor left uncovered = area of room-area of carpet

                                                  =49 - 28

                                                  =21 sq.m

Therefore the of the floor left uncovered is 21 sq m
