A carpet 6 m 20 cm long and 4 m 40 cm broad is
to be covered by a ribbon along its boundaries.
Find the length of the ribbon required. Also find
the cost if 1 m ribbon costs 15.

Answer:

Length of the carpet in meters = 6.2 m

Breadth of carpet in meters = 4.4m

perimeter= 2×(length+breadth)

=2×(6.2 + 4.4)

=2×10.6

= 21.2 m

Cost = 21.2 × 15 = 318 ruppees..
