Length of the carpet : 6m 20cm

Breadth of the carpet: 4m 40cm

For this question, perimeter is required.

But first, we have to convert the meter to cm.

6m = 600 cm + 20 cm = 620 cm

4m = 400cm + 40 cm = 440 cm

Perimeter = 2 x ( l + b )

Perimeter of the carpet =  2 x ( 620 + 440 )

= 2 x ( 1060 cm )

= 2120 cm of ribbon is required for the carpet to be covered by the bounderies.

Now, we convert 2120 cm to meter to find the cost of the ribbon

2120cm=2120÷100=21.2m

cost of 1m = 15 rupees

cost of 21.2m = 21.2×15

= 318 rupees.

Thus, we will need rupees 318 to cover the carpet by the bounderies.

I hope this helped.
