For carpet without border
l = 8m
b = 5m
Carpet with border
l = 8m
b = 0.5m for one side
Total b will be 2 (0.5)
= 1
b = 1
Total b = 5m + 1m = 6m
Total l = 8m + 1m = 9m
Perimeter = 2 (9m + 6m)
= 2 (15)
= 30m
Answer is 30m
Hope it helped u!

heya frnd!
here's ur answer...
given the length of the floor is 8m and breadth is 5m.if the carpet is laid on the floor leaving border of 0.5m then:-
the length of the carpet=8-(0.5+0.5)
=8-1
=7m
breadth of the carpet=5-(0.5+0.5)
=5-1
=4m
therefore perimeter of the carpet=2(l+b)
=2(7+4)
=2×11
=22m
hope this helps..!
