Breadth of Carpet = 20 m
Area of Carpet = 30×20
= 600 m sq.
After cutting a strip 4 m wide,
New length = 30-(4+4)
= 30-8
= 22 m
New Breadth = 20-(4+4)
= 20-8
= 12 m
New area (A2) = Area of Remaining Carpet
= 22×12
= 264 m sq.
Area of Strip cut off = A1-A2
= 600-264
= 336 m sq.
