Answer:

area of carpet=30*20=600 m^2

area of four strips= 2*30*4 + 2*20*4 =400 m^2

area of overlapping portion of strip=4*16= 64 m^2

area of strip when overlapping strip area is excluded=400-64=336

Therefore total remaining area of carper when strips are cut= 600-336=264 m^2.

Dear Student,

● Answer -

Area of remaining carpet = 264 sq.m

Area of strip cut = 336 sq.m

● Explanation -

Area of whole carpet is -

Area of whole carpet = 30 × 20

Area of whole carpet = 600 sq.m

For remaining carpet length = 30-4×2 = 22 m and width = 20-4×2 = 12 m.

Area of remaining carpet = 22 × 12

Area of remaining carpet = 264 sq.m

Area of strip cut is given as -

Area of strip cut = area of whole carpet - area of remaining carpet

Area of strip cut = 600 - 264

Area of strip cut = 336 sq.m

Hope this helps you...
