Given :-

  • car travelled with the seed of 30 km/hr
  • return back to the speed of 50 km/hr

Solution :-

  • Let, first position = A
  • last position = B

  • Let the distance from A to B be x.
  • But the distance travelled is 2x.

Time taken by the car when it moves from A to B is given by

{\bold{t1 \: =\:  \frac{Distance}{Speed} \:= \:  \frac{x}{30}}}

Time taken by the car when it moves from B to A,

{\bold{t2 \: =\:  \frac{Distance}{Speed} \:= \:  \frac{x}{50}}}

  • Total distance = 2x.

→ Total time :-

→ t1 + t2

{\bold{ \frac{x}{30} \:+\: \frac{x}{50}}}

{\bold{ \frac{(5x+3x)}{150}}}

{\bold{\frac{8x}{150}}}

So, Average speed =

{\bold{\frac{Total\:distance}{total\: time}}}

{\bold{ \frac{2x}{8x/150}}}

\sf\huge\underline\pink{= \:37.5\:km/hr}
