Answer:

Given,

A rectangular lawn 60 meters by 40 meters has two roads each 5 meters wide running in the middle of it one parallel to length and the other parallel to breadth

Area of the road=40×5+60×5−5×5

=200+300−25

=475sqm

Given,

Cost of graveling the roads =60 paise per sq meter.

∴475×60paise

=28500 paise

=Rs.285

Answer:

dog catchers the cat

Step-by-step explanation:

Cat’s speed=40 kmph

Dog’s speed=60 kmph

Relative speed of cat and dog(same direction)=60–40=20 kmph

Time of running=10 min or 10/60=1/6 hour

Distance ran=T*S=20*1/6=3.3 km

Time taken by cat in running 3.3 km=3.3/40=4.95 min

Time taken by dog in running 3.3 km=3.3/60=3.3 min

So dog catches the cat.
