A cell having higher water concentration than the surrounding medium will shrink due to Hypertonic Solution in the surrounding. Due to the characteristics of the cell that water will move from higher concentration to lower concentration, that is why the cell will shrink. This will cause lose contact with cell membrane and that is called Plasmolysis
