A cell lacking chloroplast do not liberate oxygen.

Reason :

If a cell does not have chloroplast, then the cell will not be able to perform photosynthesis. It is due to photosynthesis that oxygen is released by plants as a by product.

So, if there is no chloroplasts then photosynthesis will not occur and therefore oxygen will not be liberated.

And therefore the correct option is (i)
