Answer:

Rs 20,000 and 4000

Step-by-step explanation:

A)

Profit for selling each white cement bag = Rs. 12

Loss for selling each grey cement bag = Rs. 8

Bags of white cement sold by the company = 3,500

Bags of grey cement sold by the company = 5,000

Hence profit earned by the company = 3,500 × 12 = Rs.42,000

Loss incurred by the company = 5,000 × 8 = Rs. 40,000

42,000 is greater than 40,000, Hence there is a profit of Rs. 20,000 for the company.

B)

Total grey cement bags = 6,000.

Now, the loss incurred by the company = 6,000 × 8 = 48,000

Hence, to make the amounts equal, the profit should also be the same.

Therefore, the profit is Rs. 48,000

No. of white cement bags = 48,000 ÷ 12

That is equal to 4,000

So, the required no. of white cement bags to equal the amount are 4,000
