Given,

Side of tile = 50cm

First  we  change  it  to Metre

We know,

1m = 100cm

100 cm = 1 m

1 cm = 1/100 m

50 cm = 50/100 m

50 cm = 1/2 m

50 cm = 0.5 m

Area  of  tile = (side)^2

                     = 0.5 x 0.5

Area of  tile  = 0.25 m^2

It is given that tile can carry a  pressure  of  200N/m^2. If  the  force applied  by this  pressure is  F,

F = Pressure x Area to tile

F = 200 x 0.25

F = 2 x  25

F =  50 N

Hence, It  can  withstand any  force less  than 50 N..

Hope this helps you

Answer:

Yes it can Handle 5N force easily

Explanation:

We need to know this formula to solve this question

Pressure = Force/ Area

Hence,

Pressure = 40N/m^2

Area = 50 × 50 = 2500 cm = 25m

Applied Force = 5N

Solution:

40 = Force it can handle / 25

Force it can handle = 1000N

Force it can handle > Force applied

So it will stand with a force of 5N
