Specific heat of x will be more than specific heat of y

Explanation:

Let the specific heat capacity of x is c_x and specific heat capacity of y is c_y

Amount of heat is given Q

Change in temperature of material x is 3°C

And change in temperature of material y is 4°C

Amount of heat is given by

Q=mc\Delta T

For material x

q=1\times c_x\times 3

Q=3c_x------eqn 1

For material y

q=1\times c_y\times 4

q=4c_y-----eqn 2

From equation 1 and 2

3c_x=4c_y

c_x=\frac{4}{3}c_y

So specific heat of x will be more than specific heat of y

Answer:

Material X

Explanation:

Specific heat capacity = Heat / Mass * Change in temp

for material x:
q/1*3 = q/3

for material y:
q/1*4 = q/4

We can clearly see
q/3 > q/4

Hence, Material X has higher specific heat capacity
