p1=4,400 t=2yrs
p2=4,600 t=3 yrs

interest per year = p2-p1
                           =4,600-4,400
                           = Rs 200
interest for 2 year= Rs 400
Amount= principle+interest of 2 year
  4400   = p + 400
    principle = 4400-400
principe amount = Rs 4,000

given
amount for 2 year =4400
amount for 3 year = 4600
p= ?
r=?
p(1+r/100)^2=4400.....eq 1
p(1+r/100)^3 =4600....eq 2
divide eq 2 by eq 1
p( 1+r/100)^3 = 4600/ p( 1+r/100)^2 =4400
so
4600/ 4400 =1+r/100
46 /44=1+r/100
46/44=100+r/100
4600=4400+r
r= 4600-4400
r=200 percent...
now put the value of r in eq 2
so u will get the value of p ...hope it will help you
