Given : A certain current liberated 1.008 g of hydrogen in 2 hours.

To find : The amount of copper can be deposited by the same current flowing for the same time in CuSO₄ solution.

solution : equivalents of H₂ = equivalent of Cu

⇒ weight of H₂/equivalent weight of H₂ = weight of Cu/equivalent weight of Cu

⇒1.008/1 = weight of Cu/(63.5/2)

⇒1.008 = weight of Cu/(31.75)

⇒weight of Cu = 1.008 × 31.75 = 32.004 g

Therefore 32.004 g of copper can be deposited by the same current flowing for the same time in CuSO₄ solution.
