Weight of Oxygen/weight of hydrogen= Equivalent weight of oxygen/equi. weight of hydrogen--->(1)

Equi. weight of an atom=molar mass/ valency

∴ Equi. weight of O=16/2=8

Equi. weight of H=1/1=1

Putting these in eq-1, we get

Weight of O=8x0.5/1=4g

∴Weight of oxygen liberated is 4g

Thank u.
