Mass = 40kg

Initial Velocity = 5ms^-1

Final Velocity = 2ms^-1

Initial Kinetic Energy = 1/2 × m × (v)^2

= 1/2 × 40 × 25

= 500 Joules

Final Kinetic Energy = 1/2 × m × (v)^2

= 1/2 × 40 × 4

= 80 Joules

Therefore, Work done = Change in Kinetic Energy

= Final k(e) - initial k(e)

= 80 - 500

= -420 J.
