Given:-

  • Mass of box ,m = 50kg
  • Time ,t = 2s
  • Initial velocity ,u = 0m/s
  • Final velocity ,v = 10m/s

To Find:-

  • Magnitude of Force ,F

Solution:-

According to the Question

Firstly we calculate the acceleration produce in the box when force was applied on it .

  • a = v-u/t

where,

  • v is the final velocity
  • a is the acceleration
  • u is the initial velocity
  • t is the time taken

Substitute the value we get

:\implies a = 10-0/2

:\implies a = 10/2

:\implies a = 5m/

Now, calculating the magnitude of Force .

Force is calculated by the product of mass & acceleration

  • F = ma

where,

  • F denote force
  • m denote mass
  • a denote acceleration

Substitute the value we get

:\implies F = 50×5

:\implies F = 250 N

  • Hence, the magnitude of force was 250 Newton.

Answer:

250 N is the magnitude of force.

Explanation:

Given :-

A certain force is applied on a box of 50 Kg lying stationary on the ground. The force was applied for 2 sec. And the box started moving at 10 m/s.

To find :-

Magnitude of force.

Solution :-

Mass = 50 Kg

Time = 2 sec

Initial velocity = 0 m/s

Final velocity = 10 m/s

Acceleration = Change in velocity ÷ Time taken

  • v - u/t
  • 10 - 0/2
  • 5

Acceleration is 5 m/s².

Force = Mass × Acceleration

  • 50 × 5
  • 250

Force is 250 N.
