The cost of the new job was Rs. 331.25

A 10.42% increase was noted in the cost of the new job

Step-by-step explanation:

The original material cost = Rs. 175

The original labor cost = Rs. 125

The original cost of the Job = Material costs + Labor costs

   = 175 + 125

   = Rs. 300

A 12.5% increase was seen in the material costs.

The new material cost    = 175 + 12.5% of 175

   = 175 + 21.875

   = 196.875

A 7.5% increase was noted in the labor costs

The new labor cost     = 125 + 7.5% of 125

         = 125 + 9.375

          = 134.375

The new cost of the job  = New material cost + new labor cost

            = 196.875 + 134.375

   = 331.25

The cost of the new job was Rs. 331.25

The difference in the costs of the new and original job = 331.25 – 300

                                        = 31.25

The percent increase in the cost of the new job  = (31.25 / 300) x 100

                                = 10.42 %

Thus, the cost of the new job was Rs. 331.25

A 10.42% increase was noted in the cost of the new job
