no of horses=x

no of men=y

no of men walking=y/2

no of legs of horses on road=4x

no of legs of men on road=2y/2

Given that

x=y

4x+2y/2=70

4x+2x/2=70

(8x+2x)/2=70

10x/2=70

x=(70*2)/10

=140/10

=14

Therefore,

no of horses=14
