Given : a certain number of men complete a piece of work in 20 days

2 men were excluded it would take 4 days more to complete.

To Find : how many men originally were

Solution:

Let say Number of Men = M

Complete work in 20 Days

Hence Work = 20M   Man Days

2 men were excluded => Men = M -2

Take 4 days more => Days = 20 + 4 = 24 Days

Work Done = 24(M - 2)  Man Days

Equate Work

=> 24(M - 2) = 20M

=> 24M - 48  = 20M

=> 4M = 48

=> M = 12

12 Men
