a certain quantity of the wood costs Rs. 250 per metre cube . a solid cubical block of such wood is bought for Rs. 182.25. calculate the volume of the block and use the method of the factors to find the lenght of one edge of the block

Solution:

Cost of one m^3 of cloth = Rs 500

Cost of the cube = Rs 256

So, Volume of cube
= 256/500 m^3
=0.512 m^3

Converting it into cm^3,

0.512m^3 = 0.512 × 1000000 = 512000 cm^2

Length of the side of the cube :

  = \sqrt[3]{512000}
 = 80 \: cm
