Borax exists in nature as a hydrated salt Formula Na₂B₄O₇.10H₂O
Na₂B₄O₇ + 7H₂O ------> 2NaOH + 4H₂BO₃
Strong Base weak Acid
X=Na₂B₄O₇.10H₂O

2Na₂B₄O₇.10H₂O --------> 4NaBO₂ + 4B₂O₃ + 10H₂O
Y=NaBO₂

Na₂B₄O₇ +H₂SO₄ +5H₂O -----> Na₂SO₄ + 4H₃BO₃
H₃BO₃-------> HBO₂ +H₂O

Z=HBO₂
