Takes the shape of the container means the substance is a fluid.
So,as you know fluid may be a liquid or gas,so it can be both.
But again another condition given that A can not be compressed.
Gases can be compressed up to a limit. But liquids can not be compressed so easily.
So answer is A is a liquid.
Hope this helps you!
