A certain substance 'A' can be compressed to very less extent but takes up the shape of any container in which it is placed . What will be its physical state

Takes the shape of the container means the substance is a fluid.

So,as you know fluid may be a liquid or gas,so it can be both.

But again another condition given that A can not be compressed.

Gases can be compressed up to a limit. But liquids can not be compressed so easily.

So answer is A is a liquid.
