Let principle be x
1586-x=x×R×2 eq1
1729-x=x×R×3. eq2
On dividing both equations
1586-x/1729-x=2xR/3xR
1586-x/1729-x=2/3
3(1586-x)=2(1729-x)
4758-3x=3458-2x
x=1300
hence principle or sum=Rupees1300
to find rate put the value of x in eq1 you will get R as 11%
