Answer:

Rs 100

Step-by-step explanation:

A certain sum is invested for a certain time. it amounts to rs 450 at 7% per annum. but, when invested at 5% per annum, it amounts to rs 350.find the sum.

Let Say Sum = 100S  Rs

Time Period = T

Interset at 7% per annum = 100S * 7 * T/100  = 7ST  Rs

100S + 7ST = 450  eq1

Interset at 5% per annum = 100S * 5* T/100  =5ST

100S + 5ST = 350   eq2

7* eq 2 - 5 * eq1

=> 700S - 500S  = 7 * 350  - 5 * 450

=> 200S  = 2450 - 2250

=> 200S = 200

=> 100S = 100

Amount invested = Rs 100

100S + 5ST = 350

=> 100 + 5T = 350

=> T = 50
