Let assume sum =₹100

ATQ it doubles itself in 8 yr

So after 8 yr we get 200 as amount

And
Amount =principal + simple interest

SI=200-100
Then we get₹ 100 As simple interest in 8 yr

Now if it becomes 4 times
Then amount =₹400
Si=₹300

If we get ₹100 as SI in 8 yr then
We get 300 Si in

=8x3=24yr
