Answer: 900 ml

Explanation:

Let P be the initial pressure of the gas.

Let p be the final pressure of the gas.

Let V be the initial volume of the gas.

Let v be the final volume of the gas.

P = 900 mm

p = 300 mm

v = 2700 ml = 2.7 L

P × V = p × v   (By Boyle's Law)

900 × V = 300 × 2.7

V = 300 × 2.7 / 900

∴ V = 0.9 L

∴ Initial volume of gas is 900 ml
