Given:

  • Form factor  = 1.2
  • Peak Factor = 1.5
  • I_{max} = 100 A

To Find:

  • R.M.S value and average value of current.

Solution:

We know that peak factor of a wave is given by

              Peak factor  = \frac{I_{max}}{I_{r.m.s}}

                              1.5 = \frac{100}{I_{r.m.s}}

                          I_{r.m.s} = 66.6A

Form factor  = \frac{I_{rms}}{I_{av}}

               1.2 = \frac{I_{66.6}}{I_{av}}

               I_{av} = 55.5A

Thus, Average value of current is 55.5A and r.m.s value of current is 66.6A.
