- Advanced X-ray Astrophysics facility was named as Chandra X-ray Observatory in the honour of late scientist Subramanian Chandrashekhar.
- It is 100 times more sensitive than any other X-ray telescope out there.

* This telescope was recently used to obtain the first-ever real image of black hole.
