As per questions the vertical component of tension must balance the weight of the chain. And also it is a case of variable tension since theta is changing.

But still magnitudes of horizontal component of tension at each point must be same at every point.

Let's tension and point A and point B be T and at midpoint of chain be T'

Then 2T sin theta = mg which gives T = mg/2 cosecA

Also T cos theta= T'

so, T' = mg/2 cot theta

(NOTE : when you write you should use the symbol of theta instead of writing

"theta")
