Given :  A chair manufacturer accept an agreement for giving 200 chairs within 20 days. Because of the problem in production unit the manufacturer could give only 3/5th of the products. By this the tender given to the manufacturer only 1/2 of the agreement amount. In this transaction the manufacturer losses cost price of 10 chairs.

To Find : What is the actual profit percentage of the manufacturer

Solution:

Let say cot price of Chair  = C

Selling Price of Chair = S

Selling Price of 200 chairs = 200S

only 1/2 of the agreement amount. given

Hence Amount received  = 100S

3/5th of the 200 delivered  = (3/5) 200  = 120

Cost Price  =   120C

manufacturer losses cost price of 10 chairs

Hence received amount = 120C - 10C = 110C

110C  = 100S

=> S  = 1.1C

Hence 10 % is the  actual profit percentage of the manufacturer
