A chair was purchased for Rs. 800. A discount of 20% is offered on its marked price and sold at a profit of 20%. By how much percent more was the marked price than the cost price ?

Brought cost of chair after 20% discount =

100

7200×80

=5760

Selling cost after 16% discount =

100

7200×84

=6048

Profit on chair = 6048−5760=288 Rs

% of profit =

5760

288×100

=5 %

M.P. of chair = Rs. 800

After Discount Price of chair = 800×90100×85100= Rs.612

After Transportation = 612 + 28 = Rs. 640

S.P of chair = Rs. 800

Profit = 800 - 640 = Rs. 160

Profit % = 160640×100=25
