A charge 5μC is placed at a point. what is the workdone required to carry 1C of charge once round it in a circle of 12cm radius ?

solution : Charge 1C revolve around the circle of radius 12 cm. so distance between charge and centre of circle ( where the other charge 5μC is located) remains constant.

it means, potential due to 1C charge at the centre always remains constant.

hence potential difference = ∆V = 0

by definition of potential difference,

∆V = W/q

⇒W = q ∆V = q × 0 = 0

Therefore the workdone required to carry 1C of charge once round it in a circle of 12cm radius.
