Linear charge density for uniform charge distribution

= total charge on wire / length of wire .

From the given problem,

Total charge on wire = 4 c

Length of wire = 2 km = 2000 m

Substituting we get,

Hence , linear charge density = 4 / 2000 = 2 milli coulombs per meter
