Therefore ratio of the outgoing electric flux from square to cube is 1 : 1

Given : A charge of one column is located at the centre of a sphere of radius 10 cm and a cube of side 20 cm.

To find : The ratio of outgoing flux from the square to cube.

Solution : According to Gauss law, electric flux throughout the Gaussian surface is the ratio of charge enclosed the surface to the permittivity of medium. it doesn't depend on shape or size of surface.

i.e., Φ = Q_in/ε

as Charge enclosed a sphere , Q_in = 1C

and Charge enclosed a cube, Q_in = 1C

Therefore electric flux through the square is same as electric flux through the cube.

Therefore ratio of the outgoing electric flux from square to cube is 1 : 1
