Given:-
- Electric field produced = 20 N/ C
The distance of the charge from the point = 50 cm
we need to convert cm into m in order to do that simply divide by 100
- The distance of the charge from the point = 0.5 m
To find :-
- Magnitude of charged particle
Solution:-
The electric field produced by the charge on the point kept at a certain distance r is given by the formula ,
⟹ E = kq / r ²
here ,
- k = coulomb's constant
- q = charge
- r = distance between the point and the charge
On rearranging ,
⟹ q = E r² / k
Now let's substitute the given values in the above equation
⟹ q = 20 x 0.25 / 9 x 10^9
⟹ q = 5 / 9 x 10^9
⟹ q = 0.55 x 10^-9
⟹ q = 0.6 nC
The magnitude of the charged particle is 0.6 nC
