solution : distance covered in x direction, d = vt
⇒t = d/v .......(1)
an acceleration acting on the charge along y direction due to uniform electric field.
magnitude of acceleration, a = qE/m
distance covered in y direction, y = ut + 1/2 at²
but initial velocity along y - axis, u = 0
so, y = 1/2 (qE/m) t²
from equation (1),
y = 1/2 (qE/m)(d²/v²)
⇒y = qEd²/2mv²
Therefore the equation of path in term of d is y = qEd²/2mv²
